Guide to Chompy Bird Hunting

To Start to hunt Chompy Birds you must have completed the quest "Big Chompy Bird Hunting" After you complete the quest here are some things you will need to begin hunting!

Ogre Bellows.... received from quest. If lost you can get another one from the chest in the cave just north of Rantz.
Ogre bow...... received from quest. Or can be made by Using a knife on Achey tree logs in Feldip hills.
Ogre Arrows. You can either buy these from the Grand Exchange or take a chisel and use it on wolf bones to make wolf bones arrow tips. Then cut logs from an Achey tree and make arrow shafts. Then use Feathers on the shafts then the arrow tips. Then you should have the Ogre arrow.
Ogre arrows are currently 25gp in the Grand Exchange.
Last thing you might need is a melee weapon to kill the wolves there just in case you can't kill them with range. They're level 64.
*** YOU CAN ONLY KILL THE CHOMPY BIRDS WITH A TYPE OF OGRE BOW AND ARROWS***


To catch a chompy bird you must first fill the ogre bellow with air from the swamps. There are 3 swamps to choose from. Which one you pick doesn't make a difference.

Then use the Ogre Bellow(3) on the swamp toads surrounding the swamps. Once you have 3 bloated toads head out towards a nice clearing.

Place the toads in a triangle formation and and move away from them. The birds will come faster if you're farther away.

Wait for a chompy bird to show up and when it does SHOOT IT! You can't attack the bird while it eats the bloated toad though.

Once you kill the bird, pluck it for feathers and then the following items should appear:
Raw Chompy
Bones.

Once you've accumulated enough kills you can get special hats.
These hats are less common than Party Hats because no one really knows about Chompy hats or really cares. But they look really nice and are hardcore. :p

Ogre Marksman 95 kills
Marksman 125 kills
Ogre Woodsman 170 kills
Woodsman 225 kills
Ogre Forester 300 kills
Forester 400 kills
Ogre Bowmaster 550 kills
Bowmaster 700 kills
Ogre Expert 1000 kills
Expert 1300 kills
Ogre Dragon Archer 1700 kills
Dragon Archer 2250 kills
Expert Ogre Dragon Archer 3000 kills
Expert Dragon Archer 4000 kills
